Founded in 2023 by Ben Gong, a high school student in White Rock–South Surrey, British Columbia, InnoCommunity was born from a simple belief: language and technology should open doors—never close them.

Ben immigrated to Canada from China with his parents at the age of seven. Passionate about entrepreneurship, business, and economics, and deeply appreciative of Canadian society, he quickly noticed something missing: the world often celebrates American corporate giants, but few people recognize Canada’s own success stories.

Did you know that Lululemon, Arc’teryx, and Aritzia all originated in Vancouver? Or that visionary entrepreneurs like Ryan Cohen, Apoorva Mehta, Garrett Camp, and even Greg Abel (Warren Buffett’s successor at Berkshire Hathaway) are Canadian?

Inspired by this realization, Ben founded RedNote account 加拿大商业故事(Canadian Business Stories) to share the stories of Canadian innovators and enterprises with broader audiences. Later, after his first successes, he expanded the project in early 2024 by launching 白石牵手南素里 (White Rock × South Surrey) on RedNote — designed to connect the local Chinese-speaking community. Through this platform, InnoCommunity began offering marketing promotion, data analysis, consulting, and bilingual community services.

Ben launched InnoCommunity just as AI tools like ChatGPT were entering the mainstream. His early experiments used AI to collect local news, translate community resources, and share practical information with immigrants, entrepreneurs, and grassroots nonprofits. The results were clear: when people can access the right knowledge in the right language, they thrive—and so does the community around them.
