Our Story
Our foundation was established in 2020 in South Surrey and White Rock, a community undergoing significant changes due to the arrival of many new residents, both from other regions and abroad. Currently, around 15% of the population in this area has Chinese heritage. Many of these new residents primarily rely on platforms like WeChat and Xiaohongshu for news and information in Chinese, making them less familiar with English-language social media and local newspapers.
This communication gap poses challenges for local business and non-profits to connect with these new residents, and vice versa. Additionally, many of these residents have started small businesses, often focusing within the Chinese community, making it difficult for them to reach a broader customer base.
Our mission is to bridge this gap. Through our bilingual social media accounts in English and Chinese, we aim to:
- Connect small businesses with local non-profits and events for mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Host innovative events that foster engagement between new residents and the broader community.
By doing so, we hope to create a more inclusive and connected community for everyone
